Just get throttle body cleaner from your local parts store. You CAN clean the TB on the car but it's easier to get a good clean with it off. Just blast it with throttle body cleaner and wipe it down until its shiny all over if it was dirty enough to cause problems you should notice a pretty huge difference in idle and smoother RPM's

It's very easy in most cases. Usually just 4 bolts and its off. The toughest one I've ever done was a 96 Oldsmobile ... And it took like 2 hours.

If it looks like its going to be a HUGE pain you can clean it wile it's on the car but make sure you get behind everything really good.

Re: new throttle body?

Will the TB cleaner cause problems if it goes down in the motor? If you don't take it off and try to clean it.

Is it possible to get it clean without taking it off?
Sorry for the hijack, I was curious.
