hood scoops

So I was looking online for a hood scoop... I noticed some are bolt on and some like in AM use double sided taped... Has any one gotten either one of theses? Which is better, the tape seems like it won't hold but I don't Wanna drill my hood..

Re: hood scoops

get a bolt on one...the 3m ones have the tendency to fly off at highway speeds over time

drilling your hood is easy and much cheaper then having to buy a 2nd scoop

I have scoops an have now for 5 months... Double sided tape works well and I've been to 100 with them on... If u do get the tape ones use clear silicon to help adhere it to the car. My car is black so I was able to used black

I have the 3m tape on my hood scoop and it has held fine. If you go with the 3m tape. The main thing is prepping/cleaning the surface properly for installing the scoop. ( the scoop has not departed with speeds up to 140 )

Re: hood scoops

i'd do the bolted ones just because i'd never have a reason to remove it...but if i did it'd be as simple and 4 bolts from under the hood
