Re: Msd Coil or Screamin Demon Coil?

oh the adapter kit...yes you could run that...it would allow you to bolt up any GT catback...you can also get the same thing custom made at most exhaust shops for less installed

Re: Msd Coil or Screamin Demon Coil?

thats what i was thinking to if a shop can make a hpipe for me it would be way less...i have a catback dual on it but with just a y pipe...so if they make it for me they weld it to my y pipe and into cat but im assuming ill need to buy 1 cat converter right? or do i only need the cat converter i have?

---------- Post added at 11:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:29 PM ----------

American muscle website didnt have msd coil in stock but autozone has one but its a different model of msd coil than the one on Am....It will work but do you think this one will be a good choice MSD/Street Fire 6-tower coil pack for Ford 1994-2000 (5528) | Coil - Ignition Performance | AutoZone.com

Re: Msd Coil or Screamin Demon Coil?

you have all the cats you need right now...go to the shop and tell them you want htem to cut the y pip off and make it a dual setup...if you want an h pipe then tell them to make one...if you don't then just tell them true dual it and they'll do that. easy enough no need for more cats

NinjaStang,

I don't think you can go wrong man. Both the MSD and SD will be great and do the same thing. Your going to gain Gas mileage and throttle response, they're both direct replacements and they both use vertical connectors. I'm confident you'll be extremely happy with which ever coil you decide on!

Let me know if you have any questions or need further assistance!

- Dan

OEM all day SD has bad rep on these forums.

Also, ninja. This is how the line goes for cars.

Mustangs>trucks>imports>dirt bikes>challengers>chargers>bicycles>camaros

Live it and learn it. CAMAROS ARE THE ENEMY KILL THEM ALL.

Re: Msd Coil or Screamin Demon Coil?

AM just wants to sell you something...

you won't gain better gas mileage with either unless your current coil is bad and your not getting any spark as it is now, but then you would notice buy how poorly the car was driving.

Reason why ALL the high horsepower cars still run a stock OEM FORD coil pack, because they work.

SD = will fail and make the car run like crap won't take long give it 2 months max. MSD = nope.

Only thing you will ever need is stock coil and DIS-4 (but you prob won't ever need the DIS box)

MSD ha been the best in the business as far as ignition components so for the same price, go for the MSD

Re: Msd Coil or Screamin Demon Coil?

I have had great successes with my Screamin Demon coil for 3 years now, quite a few dyno runs, and alot of miles. I replaced the ignition coil, plugs, and plug wires at the same time when the car got a ways over 200K miles on it. The Grannatelli MPG wires have held up perfectly too. Ford & MSD are real good choices too. I run copper plugs gaped at .052 and have been perfectly happy with the way it runs. Update when you make a move.

I cannot seem to find a set of screaming demon coils/wires for my 98 v6. Will the ones specified for a GT fit my v6 anyone know?

Holy awaking of a dead thread but here: http://www.americanmuscle.com/demon-...ck-9400v6.html

That's for the pack. You'll just need to buy wires. And no, the v8 pack will not work because it has 2 extra inlets

I have been running my WeaponX coils for a year now on the Cobra. FYI-
. It's a superior product, in my opinion. Cant hurt trying one, get your money back if you don't think it's up to par.
When my MSD wires went bad, I was troubleshooting and started with swapping the OEM coils back on. The engine likes the WeaponX coils better, runs smoother, just sounds healthier. Ended up with FRRP wires. Replaced the coils originally because of some preventive maintenance I wanted to do when i first got it home. Full tune up, full synthetics in every sump.

Go msd. I have one and like it. I've heard bad things about screamin demon but go msd or oem. Only go oem if it's cheaper and the warranty is better but there is little difference in price cost. I would only buy one if my current coil failed
