Exhaust is always a good starting point. CAI's are mainly for show but pretty common amongst mustang owners. If you have a manual car a nice aftermarket shifter will make shifting much easier and fun. Doesnt necessarily increase power but does make the car more fun to drive.

An auto car greatly benefits from a tune. A handheld tuner costs ~400 and generally comes with 3 custom tunes for different octanes and/or modes.

Gears are a great bang for your buck mod...install does make them pricier though, so plan on spending ~300-500 for parts and labor, that price rises if you include a limited slip differential ~200.

Don't completely neglect other performance areas - suspension, braking, and weight.

V6's are great corner carving cars with better power/weight and a lighter curb weight. Some springs, sway bars, subframe connectors and tires will get your car sticking to the pavement.

Re: Looling for some ideas for mu 2004 mustang v6 3.9

Thanks! I also have the 4R70W auto...I tuned mine and it does perform much better than it did stock. I can get those 315's out back to spin off the line and chirp 2nd with my tunes. For this v6, I'm satsified

I always forget about the jmod and other trans kits...they are good upgrades and I've heard most of them work pretty well. I chose just the tuner for shifting but I do believe you can tune your trans while using a jmod for some seriously aggressive shifts.

Honestly, our stock shorty headers flow just fine, so unless you want to upgrade to longtubes for some performance and sound, I'd stick with the stockers.

The UDP is a dyno proven part, so it does offer some gains ~ 7hp and 6-7tq. ASP makes the best pulley for our cars.

American Muscle only carries a heavy duty Auburn 28 spline for the 7.5" which 90% of the people out there with near stock v6's don't need. Stangmods does carry the Ford Racing differential.

M-4204-C75 Ford Racing V6 Mustang Traction-Lok Differential

I'm sure someone else will post another site that carries them.

He had a deal one week for polished and ported heads and intake and custom cam for 850.
That's over now, but, his work is as good as the more expensive places, go to him, he is also cheaper.
By november I'll have
Longtubes
X-Pipe(off road)
Ford Racing T-Lok
3.73 gears
Cam
Heads
Intake
Tune

And dyno numbers for y'all

Another good mod is the Windstar intake swap

Thanks.
Look into what cam you can get from Kyle at what price, and if ur doing valve springs might as well upgrade the heads too and then the intake... Lol.
It never ends
Next thing you know ur strapping a turbo to it hoping your bottom end will hold
