harder shift

So guys I just added this new mod to my 98 auto and drove around to test it out. Well when shifting from 1-2- and a little into 3rd gear it feels like its shifting harder not like its ruff but a more noticeable shift. Could this be from the hp gain or is it bad

Well I have a 99 cobra manual with a cai and I don't feel nothing different but my fiance has a 04 mustang gt auto waiting to get the cai on I doubt the cai would affect it could be transmission going out

Wow that's really not good lol but it wasn't like that before the cai I'm not sure if it has anything to to with the more air flow but my tuner should be here Monday.. ill see what happens. It just feels like its pulling harder when it shifts

Re: harder shift

I know this sounds crazy ,,but ive seen a bad or missing MAF signal cause a rough shift,,or longer shift points..Try disconnecting the neg on your battery for a few about 10 or 15 mins..and reconnect and see what happens

Alright I appreciate it... I don't know if this helps but it doesn't shift hard when I'm driving normally just when I floor it and it pushes all the power

Re: harder shift

nothing to do with your CAI...probably a 2-3 hp gain so nothing that's noticable. i agree to pull the battery and see if anything changes

Re: harder shift

do you have a CEL on? could be a shift solenoid...usually they throw a code though. could also just be crap fluid and in need of a flush

How many miles your car have? My guess is your transmission is STARTING to go out.. Prolly a little bit til it gets bad to the point of needing a new one.

Its got about 110k.. but if I have to replace the transmission I think I'm going to put a 5 speed in. It's not to much more than putting in another auto is it?

Well there's a good bit more.. You'll need a computer to put with it.. Plus other little crap.. Trans might just be showing signs of wear and tear.
