How can i get more torq for my 2001 v6

Since I've installed my xpipe I've lost a lot of lower Rpm's but a lot more top end performance.
I'm sticking with a v6 and wanna prove the gt's I can smoke them.

I only have:
X-pipe not catted
Dual 10 series
All new ntk o2 sensors
K&n intake

HELP ME

buy some longtube headers and have your muffler shop fab your x pipe so you wont have to buy another shorty x. buy some gears and buy a tuner. bam !

What do you mean fab my xpipe
? Meaning cut? I have my xpipe so I can unbolt and put my cats back on so I can get it inspected.

well with longtubes it wont fit if you have a normal sized mid pipe. im sure it wont affect it if they cut ur xpipe a bit to make the longtubes fit.

Re: How can i get more torq for my 2001 v6

The day after I installed my dual exhaust, I ordered a VAP lower intake spacer. Gained the low end torque back.

A 4.2 stroker would probably be best.
you can re-use a lot of your parts.
I don't know about the new split port engines but for my single port v6. I needed a new harmonic balancer and flexplate.

This may have nothing to do with your situation mentioned but it reminded me of the fact underdrive pulleys for your particular generation provides harmonic balancer with the drive pulley, with the second alternator pulley.

Re: How can i get more torq for my 2001 v6

you lost your low end when you took the cats out.. the medium ground is a nice set of high flows that let you keep some of the low end yet breath more up top

+1. They worked wonders on my 00 sixxer. I ran o/r gt exhaust fabbed from manifolds back and I added high flows and they helped alot

Also to help make it "quick" invest in an aluminum flywheel. I swear to you man, it like taking 300lb outta your car! It revs quicker and it's way noticeable.

I used two glass packs in front of my flow 40's gave me back some low end and changed the note a ton and only cost 150.00 compared to what ever high flow cats cost. I dnt know how 10's will sound with this though.

not sure how glasspacks give you anything on the low end seeing as they're straight through design offers no resistance...

Idk about low end but I can see how it could change the tone for the better. I just don't like how they sound after they break down. When I first got my o/r bassani x and glass packs on my old six it sounded BA. But after they started to break down they buzzed at about 3000 rpm

The SuperCoupe M90 would not help out much since he's got a split port 99+ 3.8. He'd have to convert to a single port and lose 40hp

The 94-98 single ports respond well to those m90's, but you need a M112 or other type of FI on the split port for the gains to be there.

I know people are just messing around when they say this but we should really think about what were saying because some people will actually do these things just because we said too. We're supposed to help other less experiences than we are.

He said he wants torque and we dynoed a supercoupe with a ported blower, pulley, and full bolt ons and it made 242whp and 317wtq also had a 75 shot but don't remember the hp and tq on that one and that set up is now on a 98 v6. Thats the only v6 I have worked on I usually work with v8
