Just a food for thought, I was reading up on gains for our sixxers and its seems that "Horse power" gains are kinda pointless unless you get a race crank and bump up your rev limiter. Our cars make torque up to around 5000 I think and they redline between 5200-5400. So really you only have between 200-400 rpm to make horse power gains. Your best bet would be to focus on torque, which is more important anyway. You raise torque, you'll raise HP. I think if you can afford it start off with a tuner from AM. It will make a difference on a even a stock car and you can retune for every mod addition after that, getting the most outta every part. If you want it "quicker" then go with weight savings. Rear seat delete, aluminum drive shaft, aluminum flywheel(not for everyone so research it), etc. a regular CAI will give you throttle gains but the pre-tune affect of a CAI is argued. There IS a deference between a rack dyno and butt dyno, if you notice a difference I think it's worth it. You can just throw in a cam and get good gains from it.

Oh there is plenty of stuff to get more horse power.
I guess a Cold air intake and tuner would be a good start.

Well I'm planning on buying them. What else is there to purchase? I was looking around and saw something that said there aren't many aftermarket pieces to buy for a mustang V6

Instead of thinking about gaining horsepower, you can think of it also as relieving horsepower... Stuff like Under drive Pulleys, aluminum drive shaft, better intakes don't necessarily give you horsepower, they simply free up the horsepower or make the car more efficient. You can also get a power increase feel from weight reductions, the aluminum drive shaft will reduce rotational weight. Just keep these things in mind, its not always mods for power that will make your car faster.

i agree Kyles work is top notch...but really think about what you want out of the car OP...think of an exhaust first...something to keep you smiling as you drive while you consider where you want to end up.
