Burning smell

Hey guys I was driving today and I put it in neutral for a sec and the rpms dropped to about 475-500 and I smelled a burning plastic smell. Has anyone had this happen or know what is causing it?

Have you driven over any plastic bags? A couple of times I have driven over bags and they just touch and get stuck to the cat and or muffler and just melt to em.

Check under your car and make sure your o2 wires didn't hit your exhaust or anything

Yeah if it burned thru a wire, it's definitely possible.
