Isn't your car a new edge? (99-04) they just require computer modification, and rim size doesn't matter as long as you have the proper size tire on it, what is the tire size?

you have two choices

a speed cal unit (plugs in between trans and VSS sensor to modify the signal) or a tune. Make sure your year/trans etc is compatable with the speed cal unit or get a tune to fix it.

rims have no effect, its the tires. If they maintain the stock overall height no change is needed.
