Anyone know a good cheap place to purchase a 5speed manual for my 2000?

You could try going to a local auto shop you know and trust and ask them about Jasper engines and transmissions. You might be able to pick up a remanufactured one for a decent price.

are you trying to convert your transmission? if you're doing it yourself then go for it. But if you're taking it to a shop then expect to pay about the price of a turbo to make the switch total.

Crazy, a 2000 5-speed would cost you about 2500 to buy here...the whole car mind you, in fair condition. For the cost it may be worth selling what you have and buying a manual car. Or up the ante and spend 3-5k and get a 5-speed GT.

I was actully thing of saving and then selling mines to get a GT instead but im undecided so far
