Gauges you just gotta buy the little twist on lights from superbrightleds.com then take off your cluster and then pull off the the needles. They just slide off. Also you will have to put them back in the right place you had them before. And then take off the film carefully so that it doesn't rip. because its held on there by sometime of glue or something. Then when you get it off. Get a knife and scratch off the greenish stuff behind each number, letter and emblem. Then once that's done put a light behind it and look at the front make sure you can see through it clear instead of green now. Then put it back on the cluster. As good as you can. PS it will not go on all the way. So when you put the needles back on you can't push them all the way down like they were before. Because they will get stuck on the film and you won't get accurate info from your cluster.

I have a question...I bought 194 bulbs for my HVAC controls. I started to change them out and pulled this out

Does the bulb inside that come out of the holder? I really don't want to break the bulb if I don't have the right thing

Yea just pull the bulb out. It's the same as the gauge cluster bulbs.

Ok, so I finally got the bulb out.

Are you sure they are the same as the gauge cluster bulbs? Because I was going off this and it said they were the 74 style base...

Ok...for at least the 2004 v6. The gauge cluster lights ARE NOT the 194 base. They are indeed the 74 base LEDs.

When you say you just ripped it apart what do you mean? I was trying to do the shifter today and couldn't figure it out

They are not 194s. The are the 74 base leds as seen here.

http://www.superbrightleds.com/morei...se/228/#photos

The bulbs first out of the back of the cluster assembly and you replace the bulb inside the plastic twist off piece. I AM NOT saying they are all like this. The SN95 may be 194. But I know for a fact that the 2004 v6 is NOT the 194 base...(just took apart my car to see)

Do the radio light mod, that would be awesome. The 460 Mach has a clean stock sound.

Change the light color on the stock deck. If I had a stock deck I would try.

Yes, everything is possible. I would start by removing the plastic deck cover and plugging it in in the dark to look for the source of the leds. It might be a hard project. Next time I go to the recycle center I'll grab one to play with.

Got a Pioneer also. Not big on there amps because they market max power. Everyone should sell rms power. What a way to cheat noobs. Now you know why I likes old school Orion reds, ceater amps. 100 wats rated produces 800 at low ohms. Pioneer produces excellent decks!

Don't bother wasting your time. I pretty much knew the person suggesting it probably had not done it. While I had my aftermarket radio, I took apart the stock deck. Each one of the buttons on the radio is a flat LED. There are 27 of them soldered into the board.

Even if each LED was 99c, you'd still be looking at paying $30. I also believe that the stock head unit has the green coloring on the back of each button on the face. This would mean that you need to sand each of the parts as well as replacing the bulbs.

Not to mention the actual LED display will still illuminate the green color...

With new aftermarket head units being as cheap as $99, it just isn't worth the money.
