Popping sucking sound help!

I have a 2000 mustang and on cold start ups there is this weird sucking sound but its not continuous, it almost pops in and out. It is very noticeable on start up and at idle and when I rev it but after it gets a little warm it goes away. It sounds like its coming from the left side of the motor. I don't think it's a hose just because it stops after a few minutes and it doesnt idle terribly rough. Gasket maybe?

Not really, it sounds like an intake suck not exhaust. When I get home I'm going to take off my manifold and retorque the bolts correctly and see if that helps. I don't know what else to do?

Anyway, as someone else here said check the intake gasket. That seems highly possible.
