Hood panel

Would it do any damage if I took off the black piece under the hood? It's all ugly and I don't like it.

Just let me know how that works out for you!

My hood doesn't have it either. I'm hoping that if my engine were to catch fire the carbon fiber hood will act as an accelerant and ignite the rest of my car thus burning it down, to the ground.
