Roots blower v2.0 *UPDATE*

Split port guys:

We ditched the adaption plate because we initially couldn't get the clearance. We then tried seeing how it would be to mill down the lower intake and redo the adaption plate. However, for the price of 1) buying the lower intakes and taking customers' as cores, 2) milling it down and matching it right, and 3) take the time to custom do each one, we decided to just make a custom lower that will accept a roots blower.

As you may be thinking, yes this will require more R&D, but it is coming along nicely and will go into final testing within 2 months unless we have more delays, which I can't see what would go wrong at this point except production delays but that's very unlikely.

Single/Split port guys read on:

"Guys, I have heard people with prochargers running 5psi on split port before they got fuel upgrades. How many psi can you run on a single port sense it has 14lb's on it? It will take time for us to get all of the money for the fuel parts, if we could test a 5psi starter kit that would go 5-600, start selling it. When we can test 7psi version, I will send out 7psi pulley when people buy fuel upgrades. I can have that done farely soon and the split port kit will be up for sale at the same time the single port will be.

So if that is possible:

Here what the new pricing will be:

Starter kit (Split and single port):

Lower intake
Blower intake plenum
5psi pulley
New drive belt
Eaton m90 SC

Price: $500+150 corecharge for blower.

Then you can get for $500 more fuel upgrades along with 7psi pulley.
Fuel upgrades include:
30lb/hr injectors
255/300lph pump
80mm MAF
F3 Fordchip

Sounds good?"

Other options will be 42/50# inj. depending on your setup, but 30#ers will be fine for almost all setups.

And, of course, PICS! They are CNC files, most are correct but obviously this isn't all of them, but all of them that SpeedKillz managed to put online.

ok, on the lower intake that you showed there.. each side has 4 ports. thats not right. i know each side has an extra hole for coolant to flow, however, if youre gonna have an open lower intake manifold like that design, youre gonna have to eliminate the coolant passage

looks good! For the coolant ports... have AN fittings welded in the holes you'll
mill for that and just run AN line between the appropriate fittings. That's what I
would do.
edit: oh yeah, and thermo housing needs to be taken care of

What about the compression ratio of the stock engines for running these SC blowers, arent' they a little too high? SC engines have dished low compression pistions in them, and forged cranks too right???

Great idea Mik! That would reduce the lower intake heating
and produce a bit more HP/Tq. than a lower with coolant
flowing in there thru a passage. But it would need a deal
behind the thermo housing. SK had it as a wall between the
plenum and the coolant passage, easy to do but adds heat.

Single and Split...

I am consulting on the project, and providing cams and
porting, and I will be an authorized installer too.

How much HP & TQ are we looking at gaining with this setup? On both ports (single & split).

Oh, and what about shipping? Since I live in Norway

(If I supercharger my V6 Mustang I will be the only blown V6 in Norway)

There is no way to know what power it will make as it STILL hasn't been completed (yes I realized it's been months with little to show). Take a look at what the centrifugal blower (Vortech, ProCharger) guys are putting down and take off a few hp and add a lot more torque. That's as best as we can guess for now.

Actually, we will be shipping the custom lower from Norway I believe. Might be able to work out a few less bucks shipping!

When will this kit be for sale? Is this kit all I will need to install the supercharger on my car?

Constantin (Speedkillz) already wrote this up on V6P:

The design is done, we are raising money for testing, so as soon as we have enough we will test and release the results, don't expect to see the pics of the manifold untill its installed and dynoed so we don't have any copy cat issues we finish the patent work. Also the intake plenums (TB to blower) will be most likely carbon fiber on aluminum support. I am working on molds that will be sent to a company that will make the actual plenums. We'll also have carbon fiber cold air intake kits. There will be included custom fuel rails with aftermarket fuel pressure regulator for single ports and for single port-to-split port conversions. Splitports will get a custom fuel rail with stock fuel pressure sensor added. This new fuel rails will not be connected in the front, in order to give maximum room for the blower. Like I said before there will be a custom rail for split port conversion that will have injector ports in split port positions and a fuel pressure regulator, if people want to install split port heads along with the blower. Intercoolers for the intercooled kits are going to be very similar to cobra units and will be assembled and welded by a company in Texas that makes custom intercooles. There will be a water-to-air and air-to-air versions of the intecooler upgrade, difference is that air to air one will have a large openning on right side in to which a small fan( similar to the ones sold as "electric superchargers") will be pushing air from a pipe to a fender. The water to air one will remain as planned earlier. The drive belt set up will only altered in only one place, at the pulley next to alternetor where it will be removed to make room for the blower snout and in place there will be new bracket with 2 new pulleys that will make the drive belt cover the blower pulley almost completely. If there will be any belt slip on the intercooled kits, a Cog Drive Conversion will be added similar to one we are working on right now for supercoupe. Also we will have Twin Screw Autorotor kits available a little later.

-----------------

Basically the project isn't dead. We'll be at www.newagetuning.com soon with a full site. Right now the temp small contact site is at www.newagev6motorsports.com

Sorry, the blowers will come from Sweden. Autorotor and New Age Tuning made a deal, we're going to be using roots and twin screws. We got a place in the States for the intake now.

here are some new ones constantin (speedkillz) made. this is basically just a pretty picture, as the real pictures don't have things purposefully done wrong... patent pending.

the blower mounting will be on the square hole in the middle of the right piece of the first picture, and will be adj. it'll move back and forth kinda like caster/camber plates if you are familiar. a liquid gasket will keep it sealed. the fuel rails will have a braided line hooking them together and will also be adj. once this is all said and done.

constantin is also looking into having them made of carbon fiber.. no heat + same design = :thumb2:

the site is being built and has more contact info.

I am confused about the pricing, it seems too good to be true. For the $650, do we have to provide you guys with a used m90 in exhange for a new one, or is $650 the total for the whole kit, including new supercharger?

Also, will we have to tap the engine oil lines for this, or is the M90 self-contained?

I am very interested in this guys, as I can see many of us are, keep up the awesome work!

NavyStang,

The final pricing still isn't actually final because of yo-yo-ing machine shop prices, but it should be about 1,500-1,800$ (initially) for a complete kit. The blower is self contained. The fuel parts are a 255 or 300lph pump, SCT chip, 42#ers, 80 or 90mm MAF. Thanks for the interest, I PMed you more info.
