Is overdrive good for anything race wise

it's essentially your 4th gear. turn it off when racing leave it on when cruising.

Doesnt even really help in racing...you use it when going to pass another car so you don't have to floor it so much.

It really doesn't even matter when passing someone, cause when you hit the gas the computer will automatically make it drop a gear.

I use it so i dont have to get on the gas really to force the gear drop...which in a v6 is more then youd think. Which is why i tap the o/d button...makes things easier on the car.

I agree with 1slosix it's easier. it feels less harsh on the car too
