*know
do you have an 8.8 rear? I've heard autos go with 3.73s, manuals go with 4.10s. 3.73s for DDs though.

Yea it's 8.8. So I'd just go 3.73 for dd car?

That's what everyone normally does. Especially if you have an auto. do you do a lot of highway driving?

Actually my car is a weekend car, But sometimes I do long drive. I'm just worrying about how bad is the mpg on 4.10 on the highway with Auto trans.

it's not terrible. I think it's like a 2 mpg loss. but if it's your weekend car I would put 4.10s on

Can a 05-09 GT rear axle be switched into a 07's V6 end? My brother got into a accident and has to replace his entire rear axle and was wondering while hes at it is that possible

Just bolt off and bolt on? Will he have to get anything else since the GT one has a 31 spline?

If you get the axle complete you don't need new gears or anything a complete GT axle will bolt on to the v6 no problem

no, the differential. the differential is part of the rear axle. but as torchedfrankie said, if it's complete then you won't need any differential gears. But it's a good idea to upgrade them if you want to get off the line faster not to expensive anyway, about $150 for them.

The GT axle comes with limited slip differential correct? Thatd be much better option just find an entire GT axle to replace it. He took it to a shop and they gave him a rough sketchy estimate of 12, 000 including the axle because it was twisted and shifted, control arms, shocks and other things like that and the body work which we ourselves have mostly taken care of already

I thought that's what you were going to do in the first place haha yes it would be much better. the 8.8 comes with the tlok differental (LSD) and its more sturdy! get your hands on one if you can

Exactly! I was like ummm kay thanks homie Lol There kinda hard to find cause most junkyards dont have GTs junked around here and if they do most parts are gone already. I recommended him to do the swap if the replacement parts cost around same price so we'll see if he finds ine on Craiglist or something

You will see a little decrease in mpg. Also if you are auto 4:10 would be good if you can take a decrease in mpg, now if you are manual I would only go 373! Others might disagree but that's my opionon.
