Service Engine Light. MIL Elim question

Well I really dont wanna drop $120 on MIL Elims or even more for a tune. Is there any other way to keep this light from coming on from the sensors? Also, whats so different about the mustangs that it kicks a light for pulling the cats? ive done this on my daytona, and my neon with no issues. The MAF im assuming? If thats the case is their a way to convert the 3.8 to a MAP car?

mils arent $120, they are more like $60, you have to have mil eliminators or a tuner to eliminate the rear o2s because the signal voltage increases and makes the computer confused, the mil just changes that signal back to the factory setting to trick the computer, the tuner will just eliminate the rear o2 completely.there is no other way to change it, its just how the computers operate.

Oh alright. Well my car only has 2 o2 sensors (pre-cat) the rears are already elimnated or somewhere else. So would I be ok to eliminate the cats then if its not throwing codes from this?

oh v6...if you dont have rear o2s then you have nothing to worry about, just get a catless midpipe.

Re: Service Engine Light. MIL Elim question

sweet, thanks for the clarification. Im wondering if my car is a bit of an oddball though because it also stops at 120mph. (nose dives a bit at this point) I found out when I paced a GT from 90-120 before he started pulling away. EDIT: I rechecked the 02's. There are 2 on the front of the mani's (front of motor) and 2 pre-cats emediately after the flanges. This change anything?

actually, the things on the manifolds are egr pipes, the other two before the cats are o2s, if there arent any after the cats, you dont need mils. They are around 100 bucks.

MILs will probably be the cheapest but... they are known to not work great

Re: Service Engine Light. MIL Elim question

if u want to delete the egr, just find some caps that cover the nipples, then get a programmer to turn the egr off and block all vaccume and egr holes.

1.) Yep they make egr block off plates
2.) You need mils or a hand held tuner if your removing cats

120 is where the speed limiter kicks in.....the computer won't allow the car to go any faster

Re: Service Engine Light. MIL Elim question

Makes sense, I was told it was 115 thats why I was a little baffled when I got the extra 5mph before the dive lol.
