Little help

So there's this guy selling two engines and transmissions from an sn95 and a new edge. He says they're intact but I just wanted to know if there's anything in particular I should look at. And is there a way to check if they fire up?

I feel like I just robbed a bank. I was just looking for a tranny and this guy was selling a complete motor and transmission from an 02 or 03 stang a complete motor and transmission from a 97 and the actual '97 shell that the motor came out of. His ad says $500. I thought it was for a motor and I met up with him today and he wants $500 for everything. So I made a deal
With him and in taking the 2 motors tomorrow and the car later on. Did I get a good deal?

I'm picking up the engines tomorrow! Haha I think I'll put my 66 aside for a while to work on this 97.

Anyone know about how much it would cost to rebuild an engine and tranny? I planned to put a windstar intake on the 02 motor since its already out if the car
