possible u-joint issue - Mustang Evolution

possible u-joint issue

car makes clunking souns when stopping or going down a hill and car vibrates at speeds around 70mph. you can feel it uner the seats and floor. is it hard to change drive shaft u-joints is there other things that can cause this?

I had to replace the u-joints on my old fox body. It would squeak at low speeds and if I pushed on the gas let off real quick while in gear I could hear it clunk also. I guess it clunked when going out of first but I can't say that I it was a clunking I could feel in the floor. The u-joints are pretty easy to replace, there are about 100 youtube videos that show you how to do it. Just make sure that you are careful when putting the new ones on, the caps over the bearings can slide off and it is a nightmare getting all the little bearings/rods back in place to get the cap back on.
