No such thing as cheap reliable power. I suppose you could run nitrous, but it's gonna hurt the engine over time.

3.8? Damn. Adding power to a V6 is expensive from my experience. Try a tune up. Get a drop on oiled filter or Try a CAI. Exhaust and tune

to be honest that's not the best engine to build n/a...it's at a big disadvantage right off the bat unless you're boosting it. To get the best runs you can i'd do a full tune up

-plugs
-wires
-ignition coil (if you still have the factory one on it...those things do perform less over time)
-fuel filter
-air filter (go ahead and buy a spectre high flow drop in to save some cash but still be decent)
-bottle of seafoam in the gas tank
-check all other fluid including rear gear lube

you'd be surprised how much better your car feels after a solid tune up

as for the track times...don't worry so much about winning...just enjoy the fact your car can run

I'd save visuals for last though. I'd rather have a crappy looking car that runs like a champ that a beautiful car sitting in my driveway

complete opposite. I know this v6 ain't going anywhere unless I put some money that I don't have into it. don't get me wrong though I take care of my car under the hood as well.

Go for the tune up mentioned above then work on the cars handling. Might not win any races but it'd be a lot more fun to drive around in.

you will be very hard pressed to get any real gains out of the 3.8L with bolt on's alone, with all the bolt on's and a tune you will see ok gains just not sure they will be worth the money.

I would get an intake/exhaust and then 3.73 or 4.10 gears/tloc and tune it if auto for shift points etc.

He said cheap so he could go CAI but wait that's under dispute on it having gains. He could go UD pullies but that's disputed on gains too really the only bolt-on's he could do to gain HP would be a tune or nitrous or S/C or T/C. Oh but wait he wants cheap HP. Hmmm what does that leave us?

Depends how you get your car really. For instance. I got my 01 V6 with an engine leak and a faulty transmission. I have yet to fix either and I have spent money on trying to make it look good instead. I should have done the opposite. If your car is in good shape and in no need of repairs then its good to do visuals

Add a spoiler, lights under the car, stickers, and a big a$$ VTECH sticker down the side. That would add about 500hp

I was 17, didn't know much and wanted my car to look good. Now I'm focusing on engine and transmission. Young and wreck less you could say

The 95 3.8l has 140hp at the crank. If you have the budget (2-5k) you can make it quick. If your not ready/able to spend that much, then your out of options.

For a 95 your better off making sure she is in tip top shape mechanically. Then maybe some suspension and visual upgrades, while saving for a faster mustang.

well yeah but it always depends on the money you have in your pocket! I think he was referring to making his v6 fast though and we all know that's not happening without some serious dough.
