Do you have the Tremec 3650? If so don't use royal purple, it's advised against by tremec themselves, bad for syncros I believe.

My mechanic friend also said to use oem ford oil. I asked why and he said that the weight in it is different and when cold it's thicker and harder to shift. My friend used it on his 350z (royal purple) and had to flush it out after a month because he said it was a pain to shift.

I just don't wee why you'd need RP...oem does a great job for less. Just don't forget the mesh

I wouldn't use Royal Purble in a stock transmission, if the transmission was built up, short shifter, aftermarket clutch and so on. It could be used, but stock just stick with what's in there.
