5.8 compatability to a 3.8

What parts on a 1994 3.8 mustang r compatable with the 5.8? Ive heard that nothing is. Except k member and trans (besides bell housing) then ive heard that u can swap in the engine and wires, ecu, gauges, bell housing and clutch, kmember, etc all match up. (Basically everything) which is true?? Please help.
Im looking for infor on this because ive had my car on craigslist for a few months now and it hasnt sold so i might just swap instead of getting a gt.

Do you mean 5.0? If so I think that everything is the same besides the engine and trans. Not an expert here so hopefully someone more knowledgable will chime in.

IIRC you can use the same transmission you just have to get a bellhousing that fits (manual) auto you have to get a new transmission i believe. ECU is a deffinate no, it would need to be replaced. the wiring harness would need to be one for a V8, the kmember is different

depending on the springs you would more than likely need those as well, not to mention all the engine accesories ofc (altenator, power steering, A/C etc.)

He's talking about the 5.8 Cobra engine.

Yeah everything should be able to swap over, and when I say everything I mean just about everything on the car.

You just have to swap the engines and k member with v8 motor mounts.... You dont need a different tranny or springs..

I think the GT transmission is beefed up a little more and since its a 351w/5.8L a stronger transmission should be used.
