Power Steering Pump - Mustang Evolution

Power Steering Pump

my power steering pump whines really loud when turning the wheel, I already changed the power steering fluid. any ideas why?

Hi, did you bleed the air out of the power steering system.

Mine did the same thing. If flushing your fluid doesn't work, might wanna try getting a whole new pump. I jst bought a new one and it's nice and quiet

Try turning your steering wheel all the way to the right 2-4 times. then repeat in the other direction. You should hear the power steering pump each time.It should release all the air trapped in the lines. since you empty it.

You could always buy a bottle of the stuff that is a little thicker and should quiet it down a little. I don't remember what it's called but I used it on my fox and it quieted it down considerably lol. The bottle specifically says that is what it's for. Cheap and lame, but it worked so that's all I cared about!

Lucas makes a great product to help with whine. However if yours is loud then it has likely been run low or dry before. Usually once they start whining it will never stop. You can quite em down a little, but its probably going to take a replacement to really take care of it.
