How many miles are on the car, and when was the last time you changed the diff fluids? How many miles are on the tires and when were they last balanced?

When is the last time you had the diff open? How many miles are on the tires?

Is the sound a higher pitched whine, or a lower register hum?

Sorry for all the questions, but we can better help knowing this stuff as we cant get our hands on the car itself.

I had the diff open about 2 months ago. Tires only have about 2k miles on them.

It is more of high speed whine really. I was thinking a carrier bearing perhaps or wheel bearing.

Hmm, wheel bearings are cheap and easy to do. If your gears arent showing any abnormal wear then I would probably start with the wheels bearings. Buuut you may be able to have someone ride in the back seat with the seats folded down and see if the can narrow down where the sound is coming from.
