need some help with exhaust...

When i got my 00 mustang the previous owner gutted the two cats closest to the headers, (no clue why) so far ive tried a super v and a glasspack muffler to make it sound better but sounds like absolute **** with a muffler so right now im running just the midpipe. Any suggestions to make the sound any better?

You're running an open mid pipe? as in the stock y pipe?...definitely try out a Flowmaster muffler and see how that work outs.
