Shaking

Recently got my car running but it shakes more than I would deem normal. Any suggestions as to possible cause? I've been told bad motor mounts but I'm not sure.

Are you talking more than a tire out of balance?

I haven't been able to check them yet. I was hoping it might be something a little easier to deal with.

Well, the engine mounts shouldn't be to hard to check. You should be able to see them fairly easily, just grab a good source of light and check them out.

Sounds good, ill do that in the morning. What should I check for as far as signs of wear.

My front end shakes a little like a cam is loping and causing the body to shake. I don't know what to tell you to fix the shake.

Should have mentioned this earlier. To check a misfire, you can hear it most of the time, but if you pull a plug wire off one at a time, and each on causes the engine to run rougher then its not a specific misfire

I do, know that our cars have a wired problem with running rough which I've beef working on since I bought my car. And about 10 other people on the forums have the same problem, both GTs and V6s. Mine cleaned up a bit when I cleaned the EGR ports inside my lower intake.

You can also try doing the following as well:
-Tune-up
- Spark Plugs
- Plug Wires
- Replace Coil Pack
- Clean the Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor
- Clean the Idle Air Control (IAC) Sensor

If you try to clean your MAF take caution and do not damage it. There is a special cleaner that is recommended you use to clean it. You should be able to find it at Wal-Mart, Autozone, e.t.c. It's just called Mass Air Flow sensor cleaner, red and white can with a black lid. Before you replace your coil pack test it. If you have a Haynes manual it will tell you how. If you don't have one I can take a picture of the steps and post them up for you (you have to have a multimeter)

At the moment, my car will shake and rumble when the cooling fan comes on. It's intermittent, so it may not be the same problem that you're having, but it's worth a check.
