loud whine - Mustang Evolution

loud whine

I have a 99 3.8l and im getting a loud whine noise from whats sounds like ether power steering or my altinator. As i accelerate the noise fallows so it sounds like its tied to the belt some how looking for any ideas to rectify this issue.

Is it coming from the front or rear of the car. Could be the gears in the rear if it is.
Open the hood and check to see if noise is coming from your water pump.

As i listened it sounds like its coming from the power steering, ill look more into it.

Yeah, my pump whines like hell. Doing a flush and using lucas products has done little to nothing. Replacing the pump is the best bet, and my next step.

Some people complain about their new pumps whining as well. The reason for that is they bought a really cheap store brand pump. You get what you pay for.

Mine use to skwill like a pig. New pump. I have always wanted to use that line from Diversity in a PG way. I could not quote it perfect.
