need help with cats on my true duals!

ok i just got my true duals all welded up, (paid $318 out the door) which included all the piping from cats back, hangers and two flowmaster 40s.. i asked if he could remove the cats and he said no because they can get fined. well anyways, its loud, but not loud like i want it. what should i do? the 40s are right after the cats so i thought about cutting the pipe abit after them instead of them comming out the back, but im not sure. would high flow cats make a big diff? and what about different header? please and thank you for your guys help!

Find a shop that will cut em out. Some won't, but some will if you pay cash. They usually won't give you a receipt either as to avoid getting slapped with huge fines. Go to a local place, the chain shops won't do it 99% of the time. I wouldn't bother with hi flow cats unless you need cats for inspection. And long tube headers will net you a few hp and a better tone.

I had my cats removed, prochamber installed, 2 1/2" piping and fowmaster 10's. Sounds loud, and good. A prochamber is a must on Mustang. Check out the exhaust sticky.

Many people run without cats, including myself with no problems. You can have an h pipe and cats. But seriously look into an O/R Mac Prochamber.

Check out my videos in the exhaust sticky. Watch on a computer as most phones dont do the videos justice.

Pro chamber fits a v6 too and X = more raspy sound not too deep and slightly more power upper end gains
H= deep sound with low end power gains

You use the one for the gt on the v6.

The difference is amazing, that what the difference is.

I have short headers an off road h pipe and flow 40's no cats there's a plug on american muscle that will delete the code so you can pass inspection. Sounds a lot better because of better flow. Def recommend.

What h pipe do you have ? Couldn't I just cut them and make my own ? Or just two straight pipes connecting the headers and the rest of my cat back?

I have bbk o/r h pipe you could cut and weld it together if your good at welding but to cut a hole in two pipes and weld that would be hard. And if you ran just single pipes back you won't get a good rumble because the air is just free flowing not going in different directions to cause more back pressure and a deeper rumble. Also if you add a cai and throttle body spacer or the 65mm from am sounds better too.
