Previous owner might have put it there. It could be the valet button for the alarm. Or it could be the self destruct button

Whatever you do, do NOT hit the red button!

If it was a purge, there would be signs of the kit under the hood. The intake would have a hole in it unless they put a new one on it. The module would have had to have been mounted under there somewhere. There would be signs of an arming switch as well. Should be pretty easy to tell if had nitrous. I'd look around.

I was jut spitballin' haha well maybe it's a drag chute? Rocket boosters? Ejection seat? Trunk popper? camouflage? Overdrive? Shut off switch? Machine guns? oil slick? Submarine mode? airplane mode? again just spit ballin' here. It could be a multitude of things. Just trace the wires if any see where they go. Could have been something that the PO took off so it could be a dead switch? I have a fog light switch on my dash right under the actual light switch and nobody really knows what it is.

And how long have you had this car without pushing the random buttons? If I see a button on a car I just got, curiosity would get the best of me and I would go bananas on dem shiny new buttons.

Stoplight changer, fake police siren, electric exhaust cutout, autobot transformation button, Push to start, antigravity enabler, mating caller chicks come runnin for those, alarm reset, if it has a DVD player it could be the reset switch to watch DVD while the cars moving ( my daughter loves that feature on mine), force field against any direct impact.

When I first got the car it had a switch by the hood latch and it turned out to be a strobe light kit in the headlight and tail lights it's pretty cool lol but I'll try and press the button and message back if I'm not in space lol.

You should take a video of the strobe lights going on. I'd like to see how that looks lol

Before you press the red button, make sure to call you're cellphone service provider and tell them you'll probably be going away from the planet for a while, that way you can avoid roaming charges. And also make sure to pick up a cheap respirator from eBay or something, better safe than sorry

My 01 hood release is broken so I have to place it back in the hole when I open it or else the hood wont close and my 02 hood release feels like I'm yanking on a 200 pound weight or something
