swap help!

So a guy is gunna sell me a complete 5.0 from a 1993 mustang for $100. My problem is im swapping in a v8 to my mustang and dont know if i shuld do a mild 5.0 build and drive it while i do my b/a 351 build or if i shuld only buy the 351 (out of a1995 e-250, yards asking $400) & and save the hassle of dropping in 2 different motors and doing 2 builds. Can i get some help? Any advice will be helpful. im on the fence. :\

My advice, rebuild you v6 for cheap so you know its in good shape. Then do your 351 build on the side so you don't waist money on the 5.0. This is what I'm doing at the moment. I wanna do a s351 clone on my 98 6er. You should look into that! It's a super charged v8 putting 480hp to the ground.

Well here's the issue , I know everything needs upgraded like k member tranny rear end axles brakes steering control arms , I'm pretty sure radiators match but ether way it's a 72 block that is now drilled out for 60 over I want to make it fuel injected but got to find a manifold and what computer will run with it otherwise ill make it straight carberated

You can get fuel injected systems that will bolt on a carb manifold it even looks like a carb and comes with a computer i think kits are around a 1000

If you do the t5 swap, get a centerforce clutch kit and a new bellhousing. After those two upgrades it will hold around 500hp

a 351w will make more power than the 302/5.0 plus you can stroke a 351w all the way up to 427 cubic inches. You have to slightly modify the block, they some some blocks on ebay for like 3-500, just the block though.

Im going to go with just the 5.0 right now and later when im making more $$$, ill do the 351w swap. The v6 t5 can handle 300hp. What is the weight difference between a 302/5.0 and a 3.8? Ik its exactly 75lbs between a stock 302 & 351w.

I know the 5.0 cars weigh around 33-34k and the v6 is 31-32k.

It's got the single port heads, which don't flow as well and lower the compression a lil bit. I'm guessing some where between 170-180 hp, I don't know about the torque but I felt a huge difference compared to the old worn-out(160,000miles I think it was also abused) 3.8 v6. Maybe it's my driving but the fastest i've gotten it to run on the 1/4th is almost 17 seconds flat. its an automatic which might be why. I still smoked my friends Hyundai with it though so I'm happy with it.

Stock the 94-98 v6 3.8l has 215lb @2g and 145hp@ 4g. The v6 can do medium to high 16's if you have a 5 speed manual. Idk what im doing now cuz he sold the 5.0 out from underneath me. I may turn my v6 into a drift machine and save 3-5g and buy a 1995 5.0 cobra for drag racing. Idk though debating/researching/and planning.
