More swap help

Again, '97 shell. Swapping in an '02 engine

Okay, I'm up to my wits end today because I've been having a bad day. Instead of breaking something on the car I came here to cool off and see I you guys can answer these questions so I can work on this another day.

First of all I swapped out the lines coming out of the fuel tank for some fresh ones because the ones on the tank already were cracked and old. It was a PITA to take off the blue fuel return system (I assume). Now do i force those blue cylinders back in place as well? After I broke those off an cleaned out the residue I put in the fresh lines and it turns out that the fuel pump connection is not compatible. How could this be? The old one for just fine. There are three prongs can I just cut down to make it fit?

Second is that darn fuel canister. I'm gonna have to drill some holes into the floor of the trunk or super glue that mother in there cause there's no place to put it. The exhaust gets in the way. There is this small bumper support I think it is that gets in the way as well that bolts in to some sort of rubber stopper (no pics. Will post tomorrow) can I just take those small bars off or cut them to make the canister fit?

Third is the pesky fuel cut off switch. The little red button. More like an opinion that I need. What should I use to cut a neat hole in the trunk to fit the cable and grommet?

Last is. What bolts do I need for the gas tank straps? Haha

I'm about to beat my pony down. It's frustrating!
