Dash removal

Does anyone know if I have to remove the dash to install another wiring harness? It is there a way around that? If I can't do it without taking out the dash, how is the dash taken out? 97 V6. Installing a new edge wiring harness

If its anything like the 99/04 then you just take out the middle console. It's a pain in the *** to do but easier than taking the dash off.

Center consoles out, but I have to replace the computer and all the wires there. I was wondering about those

Easy as abc.
The computer is at the top right of your pic. Under the passenger kick panel.

Holy smokes!?!!?!!! Consider installing a new heater core while you have it apart. Unless you think removing that dash is fun...

no, I'm not trying to spend any money on this build. The car isn't for me, it's a project that I'm just going to swap engines and sell. More of a learning experience to get to know my car better as well

old you take a picture of the heating element? SO I know how hard it is to get to. Many cold winters ahead if I am lazy.

I don't know where the heater core is at. I haven't pulled out the dash all the way yet. I'm going to trace the old wiring harness and put inch in the new one. I've had a couple of the "crap where does this go again?" Moments already

I found the heating element. Its in the heater core which is on the passenger side below the air bag. I think, it should come out without removing the dash.
I was going to show you a picture but failure.

Take pictures of everything. So you have a reference when you put it back together.

Yep, I did. Everything that came off I used masking tape to keep the screw or nut in place
