Catalyic converter

Is the catalytic converter welded on and how many come on 1999 V6 stang

Basically welded on to the midpipe. You can take the whole thing off but if you just want the cats you'd have to cut it

Yeah, the cats do need to be cut if you want to remove them.

If you cut them off what do you do, replace them with the same size piping as the rest?

I have 01 and I noticed the down stream o2 sensor is before my second set of cats. If I cut the rear cats out will it throw a code?

My cats were cut off just after the o2 sensors. A small part of the cat still exists. No codes whatsoever.

We're you able to feel any difference or was it just a sound improvement??
