Getting my first mustang. 04

I'm going to pick up my first mustang today, been looking for a 94-98 GT, but the gas would be that good to get my from my home to college everyday. I found a deal on a 04 v6 and I'm going to get it today. What additions should I make to the car first? Right now I'm not looking at anything too big, maybe cold air intake or new exhaust down the road? Any ideas?

if speed is what u really want u should get a v8 imo. gas sucks regardless. i got an 01 v6 and a 02 gt and theyre not that far off on mpg's. but if u really want a v6 i would go for just looks. lowering springs, nice wheels, tint, grille, etc. ur not gona see any performance gain by just adding an intake .

Wow, most of the GTs I was looking for where mostly 94-98 just because of cost, and there gas wasn't too good. I have a jacked up ford and I get 12 mpg... I looked at one that got 9, it was souped up. But thanks guys, I'm gonna make it a work in progress.

Intakes are mostly eye candy and a better induction sound. If you get an exhaust and a tuner on top of it, then you will see somewhat of a noticeable difference.

Yeah MPG is the same. I had an 01 v6 Mustang and got 20 MPG. Recently got my 98 GT and I'm getting 20 MPG as well.

Alright I'll put up some photos later. This is really my first car that I can do some work on. My girlfriend's family are mustang junkies, and my truck is just a big mud bogger, so it's pretty exciting!

Basically stock. I'm working, so I'm gonna put some low profile tires, and some better looking rims on it. It's in really good shape for an 04, but I'm just looking for people that already own mustangs, that could help me out and give me some tips.

The headlights are clean now, that was this morning at the dealership haha. I think I may even have different ones than the ones on this picture, but it's pretty nice, Mach 1 addition with the stereo and all. It will get me from point a to point b nicely haha.

It's a little over 116,000 miles, looks to be a new alternator on it, the only iffy thing may be the power steering.

Congrats and good luck on your first mustang man.
for my v6 i would prefer to add appearance stuff than performance, like wheels, upgrade the headlights, add fog lights and dual exhaust for the sound.
enjoy your ride man.

Yea I have shadow headlights on it now, it's got let's in it already. Idk how to add fog lights yet though, is that gonna require a now body kit for the front? I just need a little help leading me in the right direction.

You should change the air filter and new spark plugs too. I have an 03 v6 and get 29mpg and drive it hard. Nice looking stang tho!

No you will not need a different bumper. They have all the holes and everything for fogs. Just not wires. I wired mine to the side marker lights(turn signals)

Yes as Xaperez100 said no need to change anything, just buy a wire harness from eBay and you are good to go, I also bought a used oem foglight switch and installed it where it supposed to be in the middle console, and hooked them directly to the battery so I can switch them on without the headlight switch on.

Thanks guys! How hard is it to put in the headlights and such? Ill look for the switch on ebay, and watch YouTube videos on people doing it.

I was looking through the forum, and I countered a problem another mustang owner had. I have the Mach 1 series. I have grill covers over the fog light spots.
