Gauge cluster problems

I got a white face gauge cluster from a mustang that was ether a gt or cobra because it goes to 150 mph I was wondering if it should work in a v6. I put it in and everything plugged in and it lit up but my car wouldn't turn over. I put the old one in and it started. What is going on?

the security system would need to be swapped between the clusters...along with recalibrating your car to handle the new cluster.

P.A.P.S. is wired to the cluster. The car thinks it is being stolen unless you go to the dealership and get it programmed in. Then your speedometer will be off. Example: It will say you are doing 50 and you are doing 45.
