Check Engine Light Mysteriously Dissappeared

Ok so I normally let my car get the "low fuel" light on cause I'm just a lazy POS to fill my her up. That's besides the point anyways I low fuel light is illuminated and I noticed my check engine light just vanished into thin air. The thing is I scanned the CEL and it came up as GROSS LEAK FROM EXHAUST. Normally I get sh*t fixed ASAP but I didn't bother this time cause I don't have to pass emissions until next year. I'm asking I why did it go away? I never reset the code or anything? Anybody have suggestion why? Thanks

Yeah that's why I never reset it or fixed it right away. I would have never thought the light would have gone off

My dad was racing his 2000 dodge dakota at the drags and his check engine light turned off when he was racing(he had a o2 sensors code). It came back on two weeks later, but it was pretty funny.

Sometimes the heat in the exhaust can cause the metal to expand and it probably expanded enough to make the leak not picked up by the computer, causing the CEL to go off
