Traction control

I have the traction control button but when I push it nothing happens and my traction control is always off Because I can spin the tires. Anyone have any ideas why

The traction control button cuts traction control OFF. With traction control on (when the light is not lit) it cuts power from the wheels when they start to spin.

Did you buy it used? Perhaps it was a rental car and that I could imagine would be a great reason to disable the traction control toggle switch : )

It probably doesn't have it. It's a dead switch. One if my sixxers has the three switches. Defrost, traction control, and fogs. Yet all I have is the defroster.

I can go take a picture of my 03.. If its a base modle it might not. My 2001 v6 did.. Because I would usually turn it of when it would snow and go have some fun.

You need to check the fuse!
Do you have your abs light on? sometimes when you have a problem with your abs the traction will stop working automatically because they are connected together.

I have the same problem, its a common issue in the mustangs, you should fix the abs first, once you fix it the traction will work again.
you can start by checking the sensors located by the tires, check the wires and connectors, if everything is fine, probably you have the abs module problem that you need to replace.
or you can take it to a mechanic that has special type of computer that can diagnose this type of issues, let him connect and access the abs system, if he can connect to the abs then he can figure out which sensor is bad, but if he couldn't connect to the abs then they need to check the abs connector, if the connector is fine then its a module problem.
There are a lot of threads out there how to check the system step by step.
