best bet is to buy an uncut key fob on ebay and get it cut, programed by a locksmith. If you want no hassle, then go straight to the dealer but prepared to pay more, way more

I lost my '09 Camry's key once when I left it in the checked bag. The Toyota dealer charged me $320 to get new key. A flight attendant recently told me that keys do get lost if left in checked bags. not sure if stolen by bag handlers or confiscated by TSA.

The local dealership does not make keys without one to copy. If you have a key it is 30. a key 2 keys required and 75 to reset p.a.p.s. You will have no choice. Go 2 a lock smith.

This must not have been done by Ford dealer, right? And where did you buy the key fobs?

Oh OK now that makes more sense since you mentioned the year. Does your key have to be programed?

Ford's philosophy: hell yeah they have the money to buy the latest car, they must be rich. Let's charge the heck out of them on parts.

BTW it's true that on average, buying all the parts of a car separately costs as much as three times the price of a whole car.

I never put my keys through checked luggage in my pocket. I hate checking luggage, even if it's free.

The older keys aren't that bad probably 50 a key and 75-100 for programming. You know it takes a half hour of labor

Yeah if you try to cut another key without programming you'll be able to open the car and put the key in the ignition. But if you try to fire it up it won't. The card computer will think it's trying to be stolen
