tranny questions

So I have an automatic 03 V6 with around 113K miles. Well while I was driving I noticed a weird noise sounded kinda like a tractor lol and I notice that center (where cup holders are) was getting warm to the touch so Idk I thought I guess tranny is getting hot. I checked the fluid and it seems fine, it's even red so I really don't know what I should expect. Oh and no it doesn't slip. Has anyone had this problem. My friends 95 v6 does it too and my old grand marquis but that had over 200K miles so I knew trouble was around the corner

Muffler is in the back it's all stock I don't think anything might be wrong since it just recently passed emissions. And I wasn't going up hill or anything just ruleregular road. I was taking off from a red light very slowly since it was late

Maybe radiator isn't cooling the tranny? Check your lines

No idiots here haha. Okay first if all, have you noticed any leaks or anything? I have little experience with transmission and cooling. But there's these two metal lines running from the radiator to the trans. You'll have to jack the car up to check them out. Just make sure they're connected. Maybe they are blocked. Someone correct me if I'm making a fool out of myself lol

You don't have much control over the Rpms in an auto though. So that means you drive REAL slow. Do you drive up hills a lot?

I don't drive slow just the limit I know I don't have a cobra so I don't see why act like a jerk lol. Yea I do go uphill on my way to work and the on ramps here in phoenix go kinda high. That's mostly when my old car would make that same noise but I not this one (that I know of)

I'm not acting like a jerk? I'm just saying that if you keep it below 2k Rpms you're probably driving pretty slow. I don't have a cobra either just V6's maybe that's why. It's freaking hot in AZ and the hills don't help cool your tranny, they make them work harder

I had the cats hollowed out on my old Camaro; all it would do is turn on the check engine light every once in a while for an o2 sensor and sound funny. It never bothered me so I left it, and since my state doesn't have emissions, it didn't matter. I think you said that your state had emissions, so I would just get it fixed before you have to get it checked again.

Nah! Take it to an exhaust shop. And if you keep driving wit a clogged cat you'll have problems in the future. Have the exhaust shop hollow or cut off your cats. Or you can find used cats on Craig's and get the old ones cut out and weld the new ones in

And is this supposed to be loose. When I changed my spark plug wires it came off real easy. You can basically flick it off

First pic I think it's part of ur radiator to relieve n e pockets I air... Second one goes connected to ur manifold vac hose that's where I put my sea-foam I would replace n e thing that may be torn or worn out ... N e one correct me if I'm wrong...

---------- Post added at 02:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:19 PM ----------

The second one shouldn't be a prob it's just pushed in if u take it off n put ur finger on it it should have suction u also have a second one on the other side connected to u intake..

So cats cause tranni noise? I doubt that, if ur worried a out it though then get high flow cats. Then at least ur doing something for the environment AND ur performance. I think i know that tranni noise ur talking about. Its like gear noise at low speeds?

I don't think it might be the tranny anymore. The mechanic took it for a drive and going up to get the freeway you can hear a noise when your next to a wall but as soon as he let go of the gas it would stop.

Is it coming from the rear of your car? Could be many things. Wheel bearing, drive shaft etc.

Can't exactly say it's coming from the back I've heard bad wheel bearings and it doesn't sound like that
