Gt springs on a 2000 v6

I got SR lowering springs off a gt on Craigslist for my v6 mustang. I was expecting a 1.5" drop but after installing one of the springs my car is only .5" lowering the side where I installed the spring. I understand how springs need to settle because the springs I bought only have 1000 miles on them, but do they really settle an inch? Should I think about removing iso's or cutting half a coil of of the springs? Which I understand is bad cause they are progressive springs but I really want it lower than half an inch.

remove the ISOs, let them settle, and you'll see about 1.25" drop.

Thanks for the responses and 1slosix did u remove your iso's? Also how do u keep the springs from squeaking after removing the iso's?

I've heard of people's not making any noise but I've also heard of some making noise. if it does make a squeaking noise try silicone spray.

I might need to do that but I've also heard of wrapping the spring in electrical tape. Doesn't this wear off and start making noises?

I finished installing the springs and I removed ALL of the iso's in the front and back. These springs are SR lowering springs, they where off of a 2000 mustang gt and I put them on my 2000 mustang v6. I forgot the measurements from before lowering my car but the front currently sits at 27 1/4, the back sits at 27 1/2. These springs haven't settled yet so they might get a little bit lower.

The ride is more firm but not bad. I like the ride being stiffer because before the lowering springs it seemed to bounce more!

Looks better. It's your car and all, but the Cobra R wing should belong on a Cobra R. It's pretty much misbadging your car. You're going to excite white a few people when they see that wing, then once they see or hear your car they might be pissed lol
