Tinting brake lights

Hey guys so i'm looking to tint my brake lights and I wanted some of your input! The two main ways ive seen this done is either using VHT Nightshades or the smoked brake light tint kit on AM. What are the pros and cons of each? If you have used either one of these on your mustang please let me know what you think of it. Thanks!

I've used vht from autozone n have put three coats of spray on both front n back lights. It's cheaper but it sucks to take off when I had to do inspection on my car but overall I would recommend it.

Tint is easy to apply and comes off when you want it to. Vht looks a little better but remember its paint. Smoked tails are more expensive but they look the best

Its about $50 for both brake lights and the third brake light, however, the third brake light has "mustang" cut out of it which looks pretty cool

How tricky would the vht kit be? Darkness and all, when some of you did it, did you cover up the white light for backing up or did you shade that one too?

It's paint. It can't be removed. And yes all light housings are plastic except for older vehicles

It can be removed but it all depends on how many coats u put on, i have three coats on my car but I had to remove for inspection n the way I removed them was with paint remover. But once on they stay they don't fade or scratch off.

I would do the film, but I'm not to good with that, i guess it's just preference, but I think the paint would be easier for me to do. When you paint it, do you leave the white backup light in covered, or cover it up?

I tinted my reverse lights, but some leave them untinted. It's all your preference

Does it hurt the performance of the backup light? Can you still see it good?
