Shaking problem

2000v6 auto. Car shakes like its having a hard time getting into third gear but runs smoothly once into third. It doesn't happen all the time only when accelerating fast. Any ideas?

I'm not completely sure but I know I had a problem like that and one of the pistons was misfiring an made the car shake a little.

il take it to the shop eventually to find out but I don't think it's a piston problem..the shaking feels like its right under the center consol

Does it happen only while driving? Try to push on gas while its on park gear and see if it shakes also, if it does then you need to check your motor mounts first.

I revved in park and nothing happened so it can't be the mounts. It only happens while driving and only while going into third gear

Mine does that at around 45mph. Took it to a transmission shop and told me bad transmission and u joints. $1750 for tranny rebuild and about $50 I believe for u joints not sure about driveshaft though

Could this problem be low transmission fluid or old fluid? It still happens around 45mph going into the next gear.
The car has 119000k miles and the fluid has never been flushed

i had the same problem and i did flush the transmission fluid and same thing, some guys now are telling me it could be the harmonic balancer which is common to go out in these models, i didn't check mine yet but you can check yours.
