I beleive the opening apature is 3.5 inches

the k&n universal filter PN is: RE-0920 (tapered oval, like the mac filter)
PN RU-2790 is a cone and smaller, but still works fine.

i just am getting a mac cai but with no filter, so i want to get a k&n to fit it. yeah, an archive of part numbers are good but they change every few years.
