Good mufflers?

I'm saving up to put an exhaust on my car which will hopefully happen here soon. What's everybody's opinions on a good muffler? I want something that will give it a good aggresive tone, I don't want it to be real loud just a nice tone. And also in everybody's opinions what sounds better dumped or all the way to the tailpipes?

Everything Exhaust & Clips

feel free to check out our exhaust sticky. has just about anything you could ask answered along with many exhaust clips. also i reccomend checking out youtube for more clips as well. and finally i say don't waste your time on a single muffler...do it right the first time with a dual exhaust or you wont be happy when you're sitting next to a true dual v6 at a light. hope that helps...

btw personal favorite is now borla's...i always liked flowmasters till i found me a used set of stingers...i couldn't imagine going back.

I like the sound of the Borla's with an X pipe, sounds mean and kind of like a race car, if you put flowmasters on it to make it sound like a "V8" it don't sound as good. Borlas are my choice.

you'll never sound like a v8 trust me on that one no matter what mufflers you have...big difference in even vs odd firing mustangs. i have a comparison video on my youtube channel of my GT and v6 with the same exhausts

Yea borlas sound nice but they are really expensive and I'm on a budget. For now I'm going with an H-pipe and I can't decide on mufflers yet, Or if I want them dumped or with tail pipes

well if you're on a budget look into thrush welds (any autoparts carry them). they are chambered like a flowmaster 40 for half the price

Yea a friend has told me about them. And I was looking at them. Would it sound better with or without tail pipes?

well i've had dumps, side pipes, and tails out the back....from what i've found i've enjoyed pipes out the back more because you aren't so loud when cruising you can't have a decent convo. side pipes were a bit better then dumps but when next to a building got real annoying lol. so to me i'll always go back tails out the back.
