Do 2002 Mustangs have a speed limiter?

Just wondering, my friend has a limiter on his car and he said all cars had one, I'm just curious.

yeah to be honest you'll really never need to hit those speeds the v6 is limited to 115 and the 99-04 GTs are limited to 147, and trust me at that speed things get hairy lol.

The 94-98s don't have limits do they? Because ive already had my speedo hitting the 120 mark on my 96.

yea they are limited as well...don't trust the speedos too much to be 100% accurate when getting up there. only way to know for sure is with a GPS...again not much of a reason for it lol

Speaking of the drag tracks, I have one close by. I am wondering, does a person have to have any safety devices to go run down their track? Helmets, race suits, that sort of thing. Or can one just go sign in and run down the track to get an idea of what a car can do.

You live in tn don't you? What ones do you go to. I live right next to highway 43 dragway if you've ever been there before.

Varies by track. Here in PA at Maplegrove 1/4 mile if you break into 13's you need a helmet. Also need long pants, at least a t-shirt, and shoes no flip flops for grudge, test & tune night.

Below 12's you need a roll bar.

My 96 Cobra was tested by mags to have a top speed of 152. At track we've only broke over 100.
