I've heard of those swaps a lot, but I'm not entirely sure it bolts right on to the tranny. I have a 97 V6 tranny out back. If you'd like I'll take a picture for you to compare bolt patterns?

Check the bell housing but it should.

If at all possible, do NOT get a 86 5.0 but a 87-92.

The 86 5.0 has even worse heads then the dreaded E7.

bell housing is different, the transmission should work.
An even better swap would be a 351, but if the 5.0's cheap enough it can be built to satisfy MOST gear heads.

I probably will go with that 5.0 it is pretty cheap and I can hear it run so that will probably sit on a stand and get built until until I'm somewhat satisfied with it haha

Just saying if I were you I wouldn't use the 3.8 tranny even if it does bolt up, most likely it's just a t45 like the 3.8 came with. And I've already tore up one of those transmissions with my sixxer and its only got a cai and an 8.8 rear for upgrades

Unless you upsize the valves the turbo swirls will suck.
