Car wont start

Car been immobile since 1am last night. Left work started fine, went to put gas in, went to leave and nothing not even a click. I'm thinking I need a new battery and new wires. I cleaned them with wire brush and things started working radio came on. Tried starting it and went dead again. Any one if I'm right about the problem or wrong?

Could be a combination anything between battery, starter, and alternator

Maybe posts are dirty. Try cleaning them off. That probably killed your battery. After you cleaned them off charge your battery fully and get the alternator tested as well

Was it your connection? I just redid my negative terminal yesterday. The PO messed it up haha. I of one tick when I turned the key and that was all (very faint tick). I thought I needed a new battery but thank god that wasn't the case.

No put the new one in started right up, I didn't think it was the battery it was only a few months old. I'm going to put new cables in next weekend.
