I'd like somewhere in the 300-450 range. I'm thinking of starting with a CAI... Then well see from there

Then from there you can do a cold air intake, rear end swap from a gt, different torque converter, and there's also a gas pedal mod you can do for super cheap that will get you to WOT a lot faster.
What's the gas pedal mod and how do I go about the rear swap from a gt? Or what are the benefits from that? (I'm new lol)

I have a similar setup. No cats though. 93 race tune. In all honesty its only a small difference. Its expensive to make these quicker.

A lot of people say a cai doesn't do much but I think it shiny plus may be lighter then the stock box

It doesn't do anything really. Not without the proper tune and exhaust. They weigh about the same it won't do much difference with a couple of ounces

For your first mod, save up for a true dual exhaust. Pick your own mufflers to match your preference and go with 2.5" piping to 3" tail pipes. Its one of the best mods you can do in my opinion. My cheap setup from jegs costed $250 and I wielded it in myself.

I had a 94 v6 with all bolt ons and it was honestly a waste of money. Yea I thought it was somewhat quick with the mods I did but once I got a gt it really made me look stupid. All te money work and time out into that v6 looked like squash when I started driving the gt. it's a to your personal liking though. I loved my sixxer cause it was different than just seeing another gt but performance became my preference and the v6 wasn't cutting it. All in all it's your decision to mod a v6 but you won't make serious power without stroking it and basically upgrading everything. But after all that money you could have a v8 that already has the power and tons more to come with less money spending on it.

It's all in what people want. You could build a v6 to have just as much power as a v8 it's just it's gonna cost more. The only reason it will cost more is because everything you buy "aftermarket for a v6 is made when you order it while parts for the v8 are laying in boxes on a shelf somewhere waiting for you to buy them. The way I look at it is anybody can build a v8 it's been done time and time again, it's a challenge to build a v6 to that much power and it takes a special breed to do that

Yea I agree that it's a challenge and takes a lot of money too. But I don't think it takes a special breed lol anyone can do it if they have the money and time.

I support the Sixxers. The struggle is real. In the end, a well modded v6 will always get my respect over a well modded GT. Because of the "Get a V8" haters. I see you all realize the massive prices you'll face in your battle to hit 350 whp. But battle on fellas, does me proud to see a heavy modded v6 beat out a v8.

Now I drove and modded my v6 and I did like it. Good on gas and of course looks awesome. But like you just stated, a heavily modded sixxer is what it would take to beat a gt let alone any other performance v8 car. But if your dedicated and have the money go for it

Yea it was different than stock lol but was it fast? Somewhat. I was prob pushing a little over 200hp but the torque isn't there in the v6. All the money I put in or "wasted" in my opinion is still slower than my completely stock 2000 gt.

Lol we all know you have torque but you also have gone the extra mile too with your sixxer vs the others that just do bolt ons and think it's super fast. If I had the money to keep dumping into my old six then I would cause it is unique and different but I'm 20 and working while attending college so that kind of money isn't there. That's why I went ahead and got the gt so I could have the power right off the bat.
