Your security system probably thinks the cars been stolen and won't let it start. I along with my mustang have a Mazda mx5 (great car) and this same thing happened to me. What I had to do was find the fuse which controlled the alarm system and pull that fuse out and I did that and haven't had a problem since

Yeah, car won't run with the V6 ecu. And did you try replacing the steering column as well??

Idk about on a mustang but on a jeep you have to have the same ecu and sam ( security alarm module) because the two are linked together

Passive Anti Thief System I wish it was sam LOL
There is no other alternative not listed in this post.
All 99-04 comp. are the same. V6 and v8 comp. are programed differently.
If you do not have a tune talk to david. You got a v-8 tune but what you forgot to do is turn off PATS.
Just call your tuner and ask them to send you another tune with PATS off.
P.A.T.S. gets way more complicated.
The key communicates with the cluster then sends a signal to the computer and finally goes to the PAPS brain. If all of this does not recognize everything as previous parts it will turn off the fuel pump.
You can also have the dealership reprogram the system.
PATS for dummies translation
Click this link to diagnose the PATS system. I got this 411 strait from the dealership archives.
You need 2 keys just to diagnose the problem.
I personally called AM and turned PATS off.
P.S. Don't ask me about my Am tune. HATE IT!
Greenstang I will be happy to hear I got you on the road again!
