Shift kit?

Does this do the same thing as a computer chip would do for my transmission? Can I do a chip and this? If I can would it make any sense to do so or would it be doing the same thing twice? Also will it really help my transmission last longer

An actual shift kit will increase the life of the transmission as it makes shifts quicker and fluid flow easier (less time spent between gears means less wear), a tune would mimic this with high fluid pressure instead of increased flow, and not actually improve the transmission itself. If you get a tune on a car with a shift kit tell them to leave the trans settings stock or close to it so it won't interfere.

+1 I only hear good about jmod. A couple of bits and a gasket and you're good, correct?

You drill a couple of holes in your transmission to allow better flow of fluid. Makes the shifts firmer

J mod stands for Jerry mods a engineer who came up with a whole guide on how to build the trans talks about what size to make the holes in the value body for different hp. The shift kits changes the holes and add spring in the value body they are the same but the different is you save money because you don't need to buy the parts just drill the holes to the size and then add new fluid and that all
